Wakefield United Methodist Church is a vibrant and growing new church plant in North Raleigh. Wakefield UMC is the daughter church of
Edenton Street UMC
in downtown Raleigh. Our pastor, Rev. Ed New, served Edenton Street as an associate pastor for three years and is part of the ministry launch team that is called to establish a church in North Raleigh that connects with the community, the household, the individual and the heart. Currently we are meeting for fellowship, mission, outreach, study and prayer on a regular basis and for Sunday morning worship services at
Banks Kerr YMCA, 2500 Wakefield Pines Drive, Raleigh, NC 27614. Map to our worship space.

Wakefield UMC strives to be a faithful, Christ-centered community whose goal is in fact, “Growing in Christ. Growing a Community.” Our priority ministry areas are: relevant and formational worship, faithful youth programs, enriching family and children ministries, life-giving hospitality and outreach, and intentional spiritual formation. One way that we strive to be spiritually formed is through our small group ministries. Small group ministry is a way for you to grow in your Christian faith with a personal, accountable, consistent group of Christian friends.

The preaching style that you will find at Wakefield UMC is full of life application so that you are able to grow in God’s Word. Acts 12:24 tells us, “But the Word of the Lord continued to grow and to be multiplied.” Come and experience the growth that takes place when faithful Christians come together, for faithful and relevant worship, and faithful ministry that is all to the glory of God. Come and grow with us! Please
