The launch team of WUMC visited several churches, both traditional and contemporary trying to discern how we would write the DNA of a new church worship service.  We believe that we are at the beginning of a time where the super traditional and the super contemporary are at a crossroads and need each other. 

Those in traditional churches are attracting less seekers/dechurched and at times risk losing touch with the modern world in the name of heritage.  The contemporary setting runs the risk of neglecting history or roots in order to be seeker sensitive. 

We believe God is calling Wakefield UMC to try and bring these two groups together, to blend and minister to one another with a blend of music and liturgy.
