Wakefield Wednesdays Lenten Season!
Before beginning his public ministry, Jesus went into the wilderness to focus on God and God’s desire for him. During the season of Lent, we are invited to follow Jesus’ lead–to step back and focus on how we are showing up for God, ourselves, our families, our neighbors, and the world around us.
You are invited to join us this Lenten season as we take our own journey through the wilderness. Together we will reflect on who we are, who God is calling us to be, and how we can better show up and be present for those around us.
- We are offering three opportunities for self-reflection and growth on Wednesday Feb 21, March 6, & March 20.
- Nursery Care & Age Appropriate Activities will be available for children.
- Youth (6th-12th grade) may either participate in the sessions or volunteer to help with the children.
Wednesday Feb 21st – Shadows in the Wilderness
Menu: Pasta from Milton’s, Salad, Bread, & Dessert
Everyone has pieces of themselves that they have unknowingly pushed aside or tried to hide because they’ve been told it’s not the norm. What is hiding in your shadows? Join us as Jessica Abshire, WUMC member and Spiritual Director, leads us in how to uncover what is in our shadows and how to embrace our whole self.
We’ll meet at 6:00pm for dinner, followed by learning and discussion from 6:30-7:30pm. Dinner is $7 a person, with a $25 max per family.
Dinner is $7 per person ($25 max for families of 4 and up).
